About Furniture Lab

FurnitureLab was established in 2010 and operates as an independent division of Cemac Auckland.

At FurnitureLab we guarantee a range of innovative stylish designer furniture solutions for commercial, hospitality and residential settings; including premium brands Thonet and Desking Systems.

Our specialist team have extensive knowledge and an in-depth understanding of our product ranges and the environments they are ideally suited to.

We work with the needs of our clients by listening to their brief and interpreting plans and budget requirements. We then offer a range of options for the project.

NEW ZEALAND STANDARDS & OSH RECOMMENDATIONS
The Department of Labour, Workplace Occupational Safety and Health Code of Practices currently cover office desks and workstations and chairs in New Zealand. There is no recognised independent body that certifies that local product complies with the recommendations of the guidelines. The closest we have is the Australian Furnishing Research and Development Institute (AFRDI). This is an independent organisation that physically tests and certifies that the tested product complies with the corresponding standards and codes of practice.

We can confirm that the majority of our products have been tested and have AFRDI ‘Blue Tick’ Certification.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Every heath and safety plan varies due to specific site requirements and is composed prior to undertaking works and each safety plan is site specific.

LOCAL CONTENT
As we supply a number of Workstation, tables and chairs and Seating, the volume of local content differs from product to product. We assess the percentage of local contact based on the value of the non-local component cost, as a percentage of the product sales price. All of our products have a local content, the local content can range from 70% to 100%.

QUALITY ASSURANCE
We have a quality assurance plan in place which incorporates all joinery items, steel work and upholstery. Each of these departments has management who are responsible for all quality assurance at the time of manufacture, assembly and distribution.

All products are highly packaged before transportation with our Freight Company. Our fitout installation teams meet, unpack and install all products. When installation is complete a full assurance schedule is finalized and completed.
